Newt Is A Bad Catholic

Good Catholics tithe 10% of their income.

In 2010, Newt and wife #3 earned $3,162,424. Their total charitable contributions were $81,133.  That's only 2.6% of their income.  As part of that charitable deduction, he did report $9,540 in donations to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, the church that they attend in DC.  If that is his only Catholic charitable donation, then he contributed only  0.3% of his income.  Shame, shame, shame.

To be good Catholics they should have contributed $316,242.

On Tuesday, Romney is going to release his tax returns.  Let's see if he is a good Mormon and tithes his 10%.

  1. They both probably make huge contributions to rightwing causes and call it "charity."

  3. Newt's had multiple gods and multiple wives, why exactly do the South Carolina conservatives like him? Oh yeah the idea he's gonna put that redacted/redacted/redacted Usurper in his place!

  4. I expect with that whopping 2.6 percent Gingrich gave until it hurt. But then, he was so overcome with passion for his country that he just couldn't take any more pain. I wouldn't be surprised to learn at some point that he required the healing services of an angel of mercy not his wife to be able to get through his ordeal.

Excuse me. I have to locate my nausea pills.
